The gentle art of blessing

Blessings, not bombs.

“To bless means to wish, unconditionally and from the deepest chamber of your heart, unrestricted good for others and events.” Pierre Pradervand

How to bless

Blessing is an act,
not a feeling.

You do not need special beliefs. You do not need perfect words. You only need sincerity, and about a minute.

Pause.

Take one slow breath. Let your body settle. Blessing begins in calm, not urgency.

Hold them.

Picture the person, the place, the situation. No need to analyze it or judge it. Just hold it.

Wish good.

Not the outcome your mind insists on. Unrestricted good, for them, from the deepest place in you.

Release.

Let it go. A blessing is not control. It is an offering, and an offering is never wasted.

“A blessing is not asking God for something. It is consciously speaking the highest truth over what we see.”

Devon Seegers

Pierre Pradervand found this practice in the middle of his own resentment. Pushed out of work he loved, he read the words bless those who curse you, and began blessing the very colleagues who had wronged him. Every day. Until the bitterness turned to joy.

Tell us what is weighing on your heart. We will bless exactly that.

For

Be specific. The surgery on Thursday. Her dog Maizey, who loved the powder. The thing he said. The city in the news. Every detail you share is a detail we bless.

Length

Unlike people who say “thoughts & prayers” then immediately check the football scores, this blessing is actually sent, into the universe, with full sincerity. We checked.

Nothing you write is stored.
